Bike Rego for all, I say.<\/p>\n
As legitimate road users.<\/p>\n We\u2019ll show them we belong here.<\/p>\n No more tight-fisted excuses.<\/p>\n The Rego burden should be shared,<\/p>\n By all who use the road.<\/p>\n So I\u2019ve got a proposition,<\/p>\n To share the financial load.<\/p>\n By burdens that they bear,<\/p>\n So bill each vehicle by its weight.<\/p>\n I\u2019ll gladly pay my share.<\/p>\n So I\u2019d be keen to foot the bill,<\/p>\n For potholes my eight kilos cause.<\/p>\n And wait \u2013 I\u2019ll do more still.<\/p>\n So expensive just to build.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve measured across my handlebars.<\/p>\n And I\u2019ll pay for the space I\u2019ve filled.<\/p>\n And to get a bigger road fund,<\/p>\n I\u2019ll pay more if my handlebars,<\/p>\n Take up less room than my bum.<\/p>\n Of nasty smelly emissions.<\/p>\n So Bike Rego should pay for my impact<\/p>\n On environmental conditions.<\/p>\n So with a method tried and tested,<\/p>\n I\u2019ll claim a little rebate,<\/p>\n For the carbon it\u2019s sequestered.<\/p>\n On other things as well.<\/p>\n Such as my toxic outputs<\/p>\n Fuelled by sports drinks, bars and gels.<\/p>\n Or a fee for laboured breathing.<\/p>\n Surely extra should be paid<\/p>\n For the added oxygen I am receiving.<\/p>\n To arrive at an equitable fee.<\/p>\n The user-pays system for all road users,<\/p>\n With bike rego for Two Dollars Ninety Three.<\/p>\n And to share my road user views,<\/p>\n Join me in my next great quest<\/p>\n To register sandshoes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" \u201cGet off the road, you two wheeled fool.
