Pemberton is a small forestry community nestled in the hilly south-western corner of West Australia. Despite a population of somewhere around 1000, and very chilly winters, the town boasts a huge an outdoor swimming pool. Pemberton Swimming Pool was built in the 1930’s into a local river, and has stonewalled banks and wooden pontoons. Don’t allow your enthusiasm to be dampened by the earthy coloured water, and avoid pondering the signs warning of venomous snakes, dangerous currents and swimming at your own risks. The chill of the water, or the beauty of the location, is sure to make even One Lap worth the effort of taking a dip.
